My name is Grace McCredie and I am a passionate kayaker who wants to help others gain access to the wonderful world of white water. My white water kayaking journey started when I was 19 years old. I had always been passionate about adventure, growing up skiing, rock climbing and hiking. I have also always been a water person as I was a competitive diver and rower. So when I took my first kayaking course it felt like the perfect mixture of all of my passions.
My first kayak course was taken through Thompson Rivers University’ Adventure Studies Program. I then took 3 more kayak courses and 3 swift water rescue courses. I began working as a raft guide at the end of my university program. I have had a love for teaching since I was a teenager, I was a coach for my rowing club and ski instructed for 3 years. I find sharing my passions with people the most rewarding things to do with my life, seeing people have the “aha” moments is what I strive to do.

I believe that this text gave an accurate reading on my traveler type. Growing up when I would travel with my parents I would travel to relax because that’s what my parents wanted out of the trip but since I started traveling independently I have changed my traveling intentions. I did a backpacking trip through Europe when I was 14 without my parents. I went to so many museums and local festivals, I stayed in hostels and really focused on getting an authentic experience in where I am traveling. I find myself very positive and easy going when traveling and can always bounce back when plans fall apart or change on me. I would consider myself a cultural traveler.
